The Best Time to Visit Chitwan National Park

Chitwan National Park is open, and rewarding, in every season — but the experience shifts considerably depending on when you visit.

October to February brings cool, dry weather and the clearest visibility, making it the most popular window and the easiest for wildlife spotting as the tall grasses are cut back after the monsoon.

March to May is hot and dry, with grasses still low from the winter cut — visibility for tiger and rhino sightings is often at its best, if you can handle the daytime heat.

June to September is monsoon season: lush, green and quiet, with fewer visitors and lower rates, though some activities may pause around heavy rainfall. It's a good fit for travellers more interested in birdlife and the park's greener side than peak wildlife odds.
